Carara & the Río Tárcoles

Carara National Park, one of the best birding spots in Costa Rica, sits just across the Tárcoles bridge. Go early for scarlet macaws and trogons, then stop at the bridge to watch the crocodiles below.

Afternoons are for the pool. Evenings bring the sounds of the giant trees at the back of the property: crickets, frogs and the wind in the leaves, and, when the clouds allow it, a sky full of stars. Nothing here runs on a schedule. What you get to see is up to nature, and that is the best part.

The house is yours. Barefoot, no rush.

Near Tárcoles, on the Central Pacific coast. We send the exact location and directions once you book.

Access: Easy to reach from the Costanera (Ruta 34). The last stretch is gravel and fine for any car. No 4x4 needed.
Arrival: Self check-in. We send you the details a few days before you arrive. Parking on site, steps from the door.
